3770994 - How to Verify Whether Onboarding New Hire IAS Authentication Is Active - Onboarding

Organizations that have received the SAP communication regarding the deprecation of the Onboarding Basic Authentication login method (event EVB13090370, removal date November 13, 2026) may be uncertain about whether action is required. When the IPS source system is configured with SCIM API v2 (sf.api.version=2), it may appear that the migration to Identity Authentication in SAP Cloud Identity Services is already complete. Guidance is needed to clarify the relationship between the IPS connector API version and the Onboarding new hire authentication method, and to verify whether the IAS integration for new hires is fully active.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

The IPS source connector API version (sf.api.version) and the Onboarding new hire login method are independent configurations. Having the IPS source system configured with SCIM API v2 means that user data is read from SuccessFactors via the SCIM API during provisioning sync jobs. It does not, by itself, activate IAS as the authentication method for Onboarding new hires. A system can have sf.api.version=2 set in IPS and still have the Onboarding new hire login method configured as Basic Authentication. The deprecation notice applies to the login method, not to the IPS connector type.

To verify whether IAS authentication is active for Onboarding new hires:

1. In Admin Center, search for Monitoring Tool in the Tools tile, or navigate directly to Monitoring Tool for SAP Cloud Identity Services Integration.
2. In the Settings section of the Monitoring Tool, check the value shown for the Onboarding new hire login method.
3. If the login method is shown as Identity Authentication, the migration is complete and no further action is required for the deprecation event.
