Symptom
Error message: PRC_RAP/032 "CONDITIONRATEAMOUNT must not be changed due to configuration of the condition type." occurs when trying to create a condition record at the Preliminary Billing Document (PBD) header level using the Preliminary Billing Document API.
Example Payload:
{
"ConditionType": "ZADM",
"ConditionRateAmount": 8.88
}
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
The issue is driven by the calculation type configuration of the custom condition type used; it is configured with calculation type A (percentage). For percentage-based condition types, the SAP Pricing Engine RAP framework expects the rate value to be provided as a ratio percentage, not as a flat currency amount; using 'ConditionRateAmount' causes the validation error.
Resolution
- Replace 'ConditionRateAmount' in the POST payload with 'ConditionRateRatio' to pass the percentage value.
- Provide the percentage units explicitly by setting 'ConditionRateRatioISOUnit' to 'P1' and ConditionRateRatioSAPUnit to '%'.
Example Payload:
{
"ConditionType": "ZADM",
"ConditionRateRatio": 8.88,
"ConditionRateRatioISOUnit": "P1",
"ConditionRateRatioSAPUnit": "%"
}
