3771075 - List A Document Upload Remains Mandatory When "Require List A or B Document Upload" Is Set to OFF

Symptom

Users are required to upload certain List A documents during Form I-9 Section 2 completion even though Require List A or B Document Upload is set to OFF in U.S. I-9 Compliance Settings

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

1.Navigate to Admin Center > Compliance Settings > United States > US I9.

2.Set Require List A or B Document Upload to OFF.

3.Initiate an onboarding process requiring Form I-9 completion.

4.Complete Section 2 using a List A document that requires upload based on compliance rules.

5.Observe that document upload remains mandatory.

Cause

The Require List A or B Document Upload setting controls the general upload requirement for Section 2 documents. However, certain compliance-driven scenarios continue to require document uploads regardless of the toggle setting to support I-9 and E-Verify requirements.

Resolution

This is expected system behavior.

When the toggle is set to OFF, the system removes the general requirement for List A and List B document uploads. However, uploads may still be enforced for specific document types or compliance-related scenarios where document retention is required by system design.
