3771333 - Custom Fields not populating on Bonus Assignment Statements - Variable Pay

Symptom

Custom fields added in the XSL are not populating when bonus assignment statements are generated without launching worksheets.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Variable Pay

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Compensation Home
  2. Open a Variable Pay Template
  3. Go to Column Designer
  4. Create a custom field with a formula on Business Goal level
  5. Add field to Bonus Assignment Statement XSL
  6. Generate the Statement
  7. Custom field is empty while standard fields populate

Cause

Custom field calculations are performed at the worksheet level. Therefore, if no worksheet is launched, the custom field values will not be populated. 

Note: custom statements from other sections are not supported in the Bonus Assignment Statement.

Resolution

To populate the value, a form must be launched. If the requirement is to avoid sending forms to managers, you can create a route map with only the Originator step. This allows the form to be launched and processed without appearing in any manager's inbox, while still ensuring that the fields are populated in the statement.
