3772833 - Error - Can't confirm warehouse tasks without a source HU

Error occurs while confirming the open warehouse task - "Can't confirm warehouse tasks without a source HU".

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Manage Outbound Delivery Orders app.
2. Search for the relevant Outbound Delivery order.
3. Select the Warehouse Task to be confirmed.
4. Choose Confirm.
5. Observe the error: "Can't confirm warehouse tasks without a source HU."

The error occurs because the storage type or product setup requires picking from a Handling Unit (HU), but the warehouse task does not have a source HU assigned.

Please find the below steps to be followed:

Step 1: Confirm the task in the foreground

1. Open the Process Warehouse Tasks app.
2. Select the affected warehouse task.
3. Choose Confirm in Foreground.
4. Manually enter or scan the Source HU, then save and confirm.

Step 2: Check for nested HUs

1. If picking from a multi-level structure, ensure you enter the correct lower-level (child) HU where the product is stored.
2. If the stock is packed, the lowest-level HU is required.

Step 3: Verify storage type configuration

1. Navigate to Extended Warehouse Management > Master Data > Define Storage Type.
2. Locate the source storage type and check the HU Picking Control field.
3. If set to “Propose Source HU”, the system will require a source HU during confirmation. Adjust according to operational needs.
