3772874 - Candidate offer link [[CANDIDATE_OFFER_URL]] loads indefinitely - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • Offers page keeps loading when a candidate clicks the email link resolved from [[CANDIDATE_OFFER_URL]].
  • Browser console may show "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Send an email to a candidate that includes the [[CANDIDATE_OFFER_URL]] token without first creating an online offer (for example, send an ad hoc email via Contact option instead of using Send Offer Letter).
  2. Candidate clicks the link and signs in to the Career Site.
  3. The Offer page never loads (spins/keeps loading); in browser developer tools, the console can show an HTTP 400 error.
  4. In the candidate’s application, no offer letter entry is present in the Offers tab/portlet that would indicate an online offer was created.

Cause

The offer email was sent as an ad hoc correspondence (using Contact button) and no online offer letter was created for the candidate.

The [[CANDIDATE_OFFER_URL]] token points to the online offer page, which is unavailable when an online offer record does not exist, resulting in a page that keeps loading and potential HTTP 400 errors.

Resolution

Avoid sending the [[CANDIDATE_OFFER_URL]] link through ad hoc emails without creating an online offer.

Use the Send Offer Letter feature to create an online offer letter and send an email altogether.

  3. Verify that an online offer Letter entry is created in the candidate’s application
