3773007 - integration object modeling widget fails to render with nullpointerexception 'itemtypematchmap is null' in backoffice - SAP commerce cloud

Symptom

An error occurs in Backoffice where the Integration Object Modeling screen cannot be opened.

The widget fails to render when accessing Integration UI Tool > Integration Object Modeling > Type Modeling.

Error on the screen

Failed to render widget [id='integrationBackofficeModelingModeWidget', definitionId='de.hybris.platform.integrationbackoffice.widgets.IntegrationObjectEditorContainer', message='Cannot invoke "java.util.Map.clear()" because "this.itemTypeMatchMap" is null'

Error log is observed:

loggerName: com.hybris.cockpitng.engine.impl.DefaultCockpitWidgetEngine
message: Could not create widget view

java.lang.NullPointerException:
Cannot invoke "java.util.Map.clear()" because "this.itemTypeMatchMap" is null
