3773300 - SQL error 14420 The log shipping primary database has backup threshold of x minutes and has not performed a backup log operation for x minutes

Symptom

  • The last backup date is not displayed in the transaction log shipping status on the disaster recovery/secondary or monitor server.
  • SQL Server Agent is running and the LSBackup job is reported as running.
  • Error 14420, Severity 16, State 1: “The log shipping primary database has backup threshold of 60 minutes and has not performed a backup log operation for n minutes. Check agent log and logshipping monitor information.”
  • Error 18456, Severity 14, State 38: login failed.
  • SQLServer Error 4060: cannot open database requested by the login; the login failed.
