3773327 - Employee not marked as end of purpose after offset period when still referenced in transactions

Symptom

  • A terminated employee is not marked as end of purpose after the configured offset period (for example, one month).
  • The daily end‑of‑purpose job runs but does not update the employee’s status.
  • The employee remains active even though the valid‑to date has passed.

Environment

SAP Sales and Service Cloud version 2

Cause

  • This is the current system behavior.
  • Before the end‑of‑purpose flag is set to true for a BP, the system sends an event to registered services.
  • If any service indicates the BP is still used (that there is still a purpose) in transactional data, the end‑of‑purpose flag is not set.

Resolution

  1. Run a disclosure report for the affected employee to identify all dependent transactional documents (for example, emails, cases).
  2. Disassociate the employee from all identified transactional documents so that the employee is no longer in active use.
  3. Run the end‑of‑purpose job again or wait for the next scheduled run.
  4. Verify that the employee is now marked as end of purpose (for example, the related completion indicator shows true).
