3774538 - Understanding the Job description styling on the RMK career site - Recruiting Marketing

Symptom

This KBA clarifies the different elements which affect the styling of a job description on the RMK career site.
It addresses different scenarios according to the settings used, namely that of the Rich Text Editor in RCM and the Job layout configuration in CSB.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting

Resolution

As a general rule, if a job layout is configured in CSB, the styling for the Job Description job token takes precedence over the RTE Font styling.
Other job token components, such a Job Title for example, have their own styling applied in the layout.

If a job layout is not configured, then the configured CSB Global font and styling will be applied to the job Description.

This only affects font-family, font-size and font color. All other formatting and styling options are passed through to to RMK. (bulletpoints, paragraphs, boldface...)

Some Important points to keep in mind with the current behaviour:

If the font is left as the default one (Verdana) in the RTE and a job layout is applied, then in RMK the job layout font styling is applied as expected.
If the font is left as the default one (Verdana) in the RTE and if no job layout is applied, then the Global site font under CSB is applied as expected.

If the font is changed however (not left as the Default Verdana font in RTE) then this selected font will be displayed on the RMK job description token irrespective of the font configured in the CSB layout or the global configuration.
In this case it is not possible to use a custom font for the Description job token on the job details page. This will cause styling inconsistency across the RMK site.
What is more, even if the font is then changed back to Verdana in RCM, the CSB font still won't be applied.

IT IS THEREFORE VITAL NOT TO CHANGE THE FONT IN THE RICH TEXT EDITOR.

Note the above behaviours apply to both UDM and non UDM workflows.
Also note that only the font styling of the Job description section of the job details page is affected. Search and apply workflows are not affected.

Future plans
The current system behaviour is under review and will be enhanced in an upcoming release.
