3774688 - Failed to connect to SAP Analytics Cloud subaccount in the Cloud Connector

Symptom

  • Cannot connect to a subaccount in the Cloud Connector.
  • Process fails with error: An error occurred when trying to connect to <subaccount>@<landscape>.hana.ondemand.com. See 'Logging and Tracing' and in particular scc_core.trc for details.
  • In the scc_core trace: Connect client to 'connectivitynotification.<landscape>.hana.ondemand.com/<unresolved>:443' failed: Failed to resolve 'connectivitynotification.<landscape>.hana.ondemand.com' [A(1)] after 2 queries.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud

Cause

Operating systems and applications store IP addresses locally to save time. The system might have been trying to connect to an old, non-functional address until the restart cleared that memory. A restart drops all old sockets and forces the Cloud Connector to open clean, new connections.

Resolution

Restart the Cloud Connector to clear session cache.
