Symptom
Custom HTML error pages are required for HTTP errors returned by ICF services in the ABAP stack (for example, /sap/bc/...), instead of the default error pages delivered by SAP.
The following scenarios are typically affected:
- HTTP 401: Logon Error (authentication failed)
- HTTP 403: Forbidden (available as of SAP NetWeaver 756 SP10)
- HTTP 404: Not Accessible (the service does not exist or is inactive)
- HTTP 500: Application Error (caused by a short dump or unhandled exception during request processing)
- Logoff Page (displayed after an explicit logoff from an ICF service)
Note: the profile parameter icm/HTTP/error_templ_path, when configured on the ICM or SAP Web Dispatcher level, does not affect error responses produced by ICF services.
