Symptom
There are scenarios where certain background portlets are relevant only to a specific candidate type. For example, the Inside Work Experience background portlet is applicable only to internal candidates, while other background portlets may be intended exclusively for external candidates.
Is there a supported way to configure the Job Application page so that a background portlet is hidden from recruiting users when viewing external candidates, while remaining visible for internal candidates?
Additionally, is it possible to control the visibility of background portlets based on recruiting user roles (for example, visible to Recruiters but hidden from Hiring Managers)?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
The visibility of background elements on the Job Application page cannot be configured based on candidate type (Internal vs. External) or recruiting user role. Background elements are always displayed to recruiting users when viewing a job application. This is the expected system behavior and is documented in the Implementation Guide: Frequently Asked Questions About Job Application Configuration.
