3774878 - Informational message (CI-Info) _FactorySetFIPS: FIPS is changed from 0 to 1 appears in ASE errorlog after SSL connection - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • After upgrading network infrastructure (e.g., load balancer upgrade, OS patching, or changes to SSL/TLS negotiation in the network path), the following message begins appearing in the SAP ASE errorlog on a per-connection basis:

kernel  (CI-Info) Message: 1001, Severity: 0 _FactorySetFIPS: FIPS is changed from 0 to 1.

  • This appears alongside the normal startup messages:

kernel  Loaded encryption provider CommonCryptoLib 8.5.21 (), with FIPS Certified CryptoKernel version 8.4.47.
kernel  INFORMATION: The FIPS Certified Crypto Kernel is enabled.
