3774951 - Custom Formula text box missing in Set Bonus Calculation - Variable Pay

• The Custom Formula text box for Set Bonus Calculation in your Variable Pay template is no longer displaying the custom formula.
• The custom formula cannot be viewed or edited in the UI.

• When downloading the xml template, you can see that there is a bonus calculation formula set. You just can't see it in the UI.

1. Go to Compensation Home.
2. Open a Variable Pay plan.
3. Navigate to Plan Setup -> Settings -> Set Bonus Calculation.
4. In the Basis Calculation Equation section, see that the basis amount is set to "Custom Formula"
5. However the formula text box is not displayed, so the formula cannot be viewed or edited.

The Background Section ID that is used by the Variable Pay template has a data field label that contains an apostrophe/single quote ('). 

This breaks the Set Bonus Calculation page rendering, causing the custom formula text box to be hidden.

The Engineering Team has confirmed that a permanent fix for this issue has been created and it will be available in the 2H2026 release which has the following release dates:

• Preview: October 12
• Production: November 13 - 14

As a workaround, you can remove the apostrophe/single quote (') from the affected Background Element field label to restore the custom formula text box:

1. Open your Variable Pay template
2. Go to Plan Setup -> Settings
3. Note the name of the "Background Section ID"
4. Search and go to Manage Business Configuration.
5. Open Employee Profile > Background Elements and select the element used in your template
6. Locate the field whose label includes an apostrophe/single quote (') by clicking the blue hyperlinked 'Details' of each Data Field
7. Once found, select Take Action > Make Correction, then remove or replace the apostrophe from the Label
8. Save the change.
9. Return to your Variable Pay template -> Set Bonus Calculation page and confirm the Custom Formula text box is now visible.
