3775075 - Time Statement Button — UI Design Inconsistency on the Time Sheet UI

The Time Statement button presents a visually distinct appearance within the SAP SuccessFactors Time Sheet UI.

Unlike other buttons such as Calendar, Change Audit, and Trace — all of which are rendered with bold, Time Statement button is absent of bold formatting.



The hover interaction further reinforces this behavioral divergence: whereas like the Calendar, Change Audit, and Trace buttons respond to mouse-over events with a light grey background highlight, the Time Statement button instead applies an underline formatting to its label and surfaces a browser-native tooltip reading "Opens in a new tab or window".

This is by design. The Time Statement is a navigational link rather than a standard button.

Time Statement — Link Behavior in Time Sheet UI

• The Time Statement control in the SAP SuccessFactors Time Sheet UI is intentionally implemented as a navigational link rather than a standard button. This design is by product intent: selecting the Time Statement option redirects the user to the Generate Time Forms page, which opens in a separate browser tab — a behavior characteristic of hyperlink controls rather than inline action buttons.

• As a direct consequence of this link-based implementation, the Time Statement control renders with standard hyperlink styling — without bold typographic weight — and responds to hover interaction with an underline decoration accompanied by the browser-native tooltip: "Opens in a new tab or window."
