When creating, editing, or deleting the identification type HCM in the Maintain Business Partner app, Manage Business Partner Master Data app, or through the Business Partner OData API, the following error message is displayed: You cannot create, edit, or delete ID HCM033 using this channel.

HCM identification types are protected and can only be maintained through supported workforce person integration channels. The restriction applies to HCM identification types such as:

• HCM001 – Employee ID
• HCM030 – Service Performer PERNR
• HCM032 – PERNR – Main Employment
• HCM033 – PERNR – Employment

This is the standard system behavior.Maintain HCM identification types only through the supported workforce person integration channels, such as:

• SOAP APIs.
• Excel import.
• SAP Master Data Integration (MDI).
• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (JB1).
• Manage Workforce app.
