3775271 - "Choose a Valid Event Reason" Error When Submitting Manage Pending Hires for Rehires – Onboarding

Rehire candidates originating from Onboarding cannot be submitted or completed in Manage Pending Hires. When attempting to finalize the hire, the process fails and displays the "Choose a valid event reason" error message.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Complete the Onboarding process for a rehire candidate.
2. Open Manage Pending Hires and select the rehire record.
3. Attempt to submit/complete the hire.
4. Observe the error indicating a valid event reason must be selected.

A picklist option stored in the user’s historical employment record (for example, Employment Information > New Hire event reason) is inactive. During rehire, the system validates historical picklist values; if an picklist value is inactive, then the error message will appear.

The picklist value must be reactivated in the Picklist Center before you can submit Manage Pending Hires.
