3775329 - Recover a deleted financial statement version in Manage Global Hierarchies (F2918) - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public edition

Symptom

  • A customer-created Financial Statement Version (FSV) hierarchy was deleted in the Manage Global Hierarchies app.
  • The deleted FSV no longer appears under Hierarchy Type: Financial Statement Version in Development system.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

Currently, there is no option to recover a deleted FSV in Manage Global Hierarchies app.

Resolution

Possible workaround to verify:

  • Check whether the same FSV exists in another system (for example, TEST or PROD).
  • Check whether an earlier Excel export of the FSV is available.

If found, export it to Excel there and import it into DEV using Manage Global Hierarchies.

If the FSV originated from the classic “Manage Financial Statement Versions” (OB58), verify whether the classic version still exists and re-migrate it into Manage Global Hierarchies.

Prevention: Periodically export active FSVs to Excel and transport validated versions to downstream systems to protect against accidental deletion.
