3775331 - SAP HANA Database Update Fails with Error "Cannot create SecureStore" due to hdbnsutil Signal 11 Core Dump

Symptom

During a SAP HANA database-only update, the process fails. The hdblcm.log contains the following critical error messages:

ERR :     error upgrading
ERR :       Cannot create SecureStore
INFO:         Found value 'cryptography/ssfs_key_file_path' = '$(DIR_GLOBAL)/hdb/security/ssfs' in layer 'Default'

INFO:         Starting external program /usr/sap/ABC/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil
INFO:           Command line is: /usr/sap/ABC/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil -createSecureStore
ERR :         Program /usr/sap/ABC/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil terminated with error: signal 11 core dumped
INFO:         Switching back to root user.
ERR :         /usr/sap/ABC/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil call failed
ERR :           Program /usr/sap/ABC/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil terminated with error: signal 11 core dumped
