3775491 - Instance Refresh - Data Anonymization fails when using new Enhanced Data Anonymization

When running Instance Refresh using Instance Refresh Tool with new Data Anonymization enabled, the refresh may fail if certain fields use Synthetic Generation anonymization type. 

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite 

1. Schedule an Instance Refresh with new Data Anonymization enabled
2. Use default settings or choose Synthetic Generation for Onboarding email subject and/or RCM agency notes
3. Run the refresh
4. The anonymization step fails and the refresh does not complete

Note: This issue does not occur when using existing CSV based data anonymization, only with Enhanced Data Anonymization

Synthetic Generation is not supported for Onboarding email subject and RCM agency notes in the current release. Using it for these fields can fail the whole anonymization job. Hashing for email subject is also not yet available; it will be included in the planned fix

The fix is planned for 17th July 2026. In the meantime, as a workaround to use the new Data Anonymization successfully:

• Do not anonymize the fields "Onboarding > Email Message > Subject"
• For anonymizing "Recruiting Management > Agency > Agency Notes." - use the anonymization type "Nullification" rather than "Synthetic Generation"
• Do not use the default "anonymize all supported fields" as this can cause the entire anonymization step to fail. 

After July 17th 2026, the fix will be deployed and the workaround won't be needed.
