Symptom

  • A custom ABAP program creates multiple files using OPEN DATASET, TRANSFER, and CLOSE DATASET.
  • Target directory is on an NFS-mounted filesystem shared by multiple application servers.
  • Intermittently, some files are randomly missing after program execution; no fixed pattern.
  • CLOSE DATASET executes without visible error or exception; the program continues normally.
  • No ABAP dump is generated.
  • No specific error message or error code is reported.
