3776006 - cascading input control applies parent filtering unexpectedly in lite viewer mode - SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • In lite viewer mode, selecting values in a lower-level input control causes parent input controls to change unexpectedly.
  • The issue appears when using cascading input controls configured for unidirectional filtering (child should not affect parent).
  • No issue is observed in edit mode or standard view mode.
  • No error messages are shown.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2026.8.10

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a story with a hierarchical filter structure L1 and L2 and add two input controls.
  2. In the Builder, configure cascading effects: set L1 to filter L2 and the L2 to none (no cascading targets).
  3. Save the story.
  4. Open the story in lite viewer mode.
  5. Select a specific member in the L2 input control and observe that L1 input controls are filtered or their available members change, which is unexpected.
  6. Check in edit mode and standard view mode to confirm the behavior does not occur there.
