Symptom
In the "Manage Workforce" application, the error message "Postal Code XXXXX must have the length Y" occurs when attempting to save changes to a worker's work agreement.
The postal code field is not visible or available within the application, preventing the administrator from correcting or filling it in.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the "Manage Workforce" application.
- Create or update a work agreement for a worker.
- Fill in the available required fields and select Save.
- Observe the validation error: "Postal Code XXXXX must have the length Y"
- Note that the postal code field is not available in the UI to resolve the error.
Cause
The current Country-Specific check for the used country does not meet the business requirements.
Resolution
- Open "Manage your Solution" or "SAP Central Business Configuration" (CBC)
- Access SSCUI 102592 (Set Country-Specific Checks).
- Select the affected Country/Region.
- Change the required fields:
- E.g: For Argentina, set the postal code length to 8.
- Set the checking rule to 1.
- Save the changes and now it will be possible to create/update the work agreements in app "Manage Workforce".
