Symptom
Offboarding custom task is throwing an error message: 'Internal error' when offboardee click to open the task.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Home Page.
- Click on the task Homepage Card to open a custom Offboarding task.
- Observe that the system shows the message: “Internal error”.
Cause
The MDF object definition referenced by the custom Offboarding task is not found in the MDF data model due to a change in the Custom Object code.
Resolution
- Review the custom Offboarding task configuration and identify the referenced MDF object.
- In Configure Object Definitions, verify that this MDF object exists and is active.
- Run the “MDF Object Definition to DB Sync” job (or confirm it is scheduled and completes successfully) to ensure MDF definitions are synchronized to the database.
- If the task assigned to the offboardee references an incorrect or outdated object name, the offboarding process needs to be canceled and restarted.
- Retest by opening the custom Offboarding task for an affected user.
