3776557 - Permission Role Assignment Shows Recent Last Modified Date but Assignment History Is Missing or Outdated

1. Open Manage Permission Role.

2. Select Assignments and note that one or more assignments display a recent Last Modified date.

3. Choose View History.

4. Search for the assignment ID.

5. Observe that either:

• No history records are found for the displayed modification date, or
• Existing history records indicate that the assignment was last modified much earlier than the date shown in the assignment list.

When an assignment was last modified in the legacy Manage Permission Role page, the assignment may display the permission role's Last Modified timestamp instead of its own modification timestamp. As a result, the assignment can appear recently modified even though no recent assignment change occurred.

Additionally, assignment history records may no longer be available if they have been purged due to the history data retention policy (for example, history records older than 180 days in Preview environments).

The Engineering team confirmed that this behavior is expected.

If the displayed Last Modified date does not match the available assignment history, it may indicate that the date originates from the permission role update rather than an assignment-specific change, or that the relevant history records are no longer available due to data retention.
