Symptom
- When updating the supervisor (higher-level) position at position level, the following error appears: "System error occurred while transferring employees assigned to the position to another manager. Your changes can't be saved. The operation could not be performed because there were errors with other records reported. No event reason or event found for the user"
- Event Reason Derivation rules are configured but are not running during the position update.
- Behavior is observed during UI-initiated Position to Job Information synchronization.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Manage Position;
- Edit a position and change the supervisor (higher-level) position;
- Save the changes;
- Observe that the error appears and the save is not completed.
Resolution
- Disable the Event Reason Derivation rule and save;
- Re-enable the same rule and save;
- Follow the same steps to change the supervisor at position level. It will now work as expected.
