3776831 - Intercompany Billing (new solution) considers profit center maintained in the first item of the intercompany sales order

Symptom

After the activation of Profit Center Derivation Based on Intercompany Sales Order Item, only profit center maintained in the first item of the intercompany sales order is considered during billing, while others profit centers maintained for the additional items are not considered.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Activate Configuration Activity 'Activate Profit Center Derivation Based On Intercompany Sales Order Item' (SSCUI: 107061) in the new resource-related intercompany billing configuration.
  2. Create an intercompany sales order with multiple items assigned to different profit centers.
  3. Generate the Billing Document Request using "Generate Intercompany Billing Request (New Solution)" app.
  4. Observe that only profit center maintained for the first item is derived in the subsequent documents.

Cause

As per standard design, the resource-related intercompany billing process handles exactly one item in the intercompany sales order. If more items are present, the process considers only the first item. Consequently, the system derives the profit center from the first intercompany sales order item when the related configuration is active.

Resolution

Create the sales order with exact one item and maintain the expected profit center.
