3776856 - Error when transporting a workflow from quality to production tenant

SAP Marketing Cloud

1. Log on to the quality tenant.
2. Open the Manage Workflows app.
3. Create a new workflow or copy an existing one.
4. Define steps with preconditions and assign named recipient users as approvers.
5. Activate the workflow.
6. Transport the workflow to the production tenant and review the assigned approver in production.

User IDs in production do not match the corresponding user IDs in quality (for example, due to identity authentication settings). This mismatch causes transport issues and/or assigns an unintended approver in production.

1. If workflows use specific named users as approvers, avoid transporting them. Maintain the approval workflow definitions manually in both quality and production.
2. To adjust an already transported workflow directly in production, do the following in the production system: open the Manage Workflow Scenarios app, select the relevant workflow scenario, choose Enable Modification, and update the recipients to the correct production users.
3. If you continue to use transport, after import in production, review each workflow step and replace the recipients with the correct production users because user identifiers may differ between tenants.
4. Validate the workflow by executing a test approval in production to confirm the correct approver assignment.
