3776898 - Organization Chart Displays Company Instead of Title When Employment Differentiator Is Disabled / Search Returns Unexpected Employment Differentiator Value in Enhanced People Search

Symptom

  • When the Employment Differentiator feature is disabled, the Enhanced People Search title should be displayed as the employment differentiator. However, in the Organization Chart, the Company value is displayed instead of the expected title.
  • When previously configured the Employment Differentiator, but later disabled it in New People Profile. After enabling Enhanced People Search, the Employment Differentiator value still appears in Enhanced people search results.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to People Search and search for user.
  2. Observe that the employment differentiator is displayed in the search results.
  3. Open the user's profile and verify that the same employment differentiator, is displayed in the profile header.
  4. Navigate to the Organization Chart and search for user.
  5. Observe that the Company value is displayed instead of the employment differentiator.

Note

  • The Employment Differentiator feature is not enabled.
  • The Assignment Display Header feature is not enabled.
 

Cause

The issue occurs because Enhanced People Search does not currently support the Employment Differentiator feature configuration.

Impact Scope:
This issue affects only those tenants that previously had the Employment Differentiator feature enabled and later disabled it. Tenants that have never enabled the feature or have kept it continuously enabled are not impacted.

Resolution

Workaround- 

To fully disable the Employment Differentiator in Enhanced People Search:

  • Navigate to Admin Center → Manage Business Configuration > Employee Profile → Standard > assignmentDisplayHeader field, Disable the field and Save the changes
  • The Employment Differentiator will no longer appear in Enhanced People Search results.

The Engineering team is also aware of this issue, and an internal back end fix has been implemented. The corresponding patch is scheduled to be deployed on Friday, July 10, 2026 for Preview and Monday, July 13, 2026 for Production.
