3776922 - Error In The Execution Of Asset Liquidation "During execution for company XYZ, book set ABC, the error 'Recording error; please report an incident' occurred." 

Customer encountered the following problem: During an asset liquidation, The error message is: "During execution for company XYZ, book set ABC, the error 'Recording error; please report an incident' occurred." 

Asset liquidation settlement posts only in MNO while ABC shows 'recording error; please report an incident' 

XYZ refers to company.
Company XYZ is having 2 SOB's

Eg:

IFRS: 7010 and PERU 8010

ABC refers to IFRS SOB

MNO refers to PERU SOB

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to fixed asset work center
2. Go to settlement run sub view
3. Search with  settlement run id
4. Go to messages tab
5. Error:
   REGISTRO NO GUARDADO NI CONTABILIZADO
   During run for company XYZ, set of books ABC, the error 'Error al guardar; notificar un case' occurred
   "During execution for company XYZ, book set ABC, the error 'Recording error; please report an incident' occurred." 
   
   

1. Go to Fixed Asset work center
2. Go to Fixed Asset sub view
3. Search with Fixed Asset Id
4. Go to Master data tab
5. Go to Life cycle data sub tab
6. For ABC Set of books, we can see deactivated date as DD.MM.YYYY. 
7. Also, if we check AUC settlement run it is for the same period MM/YYYY

The issue occurs because the asset being settled is already retired and deactivated in the ABC( IFRS SOB ) as of DD.MM.YYYY, while the system is attempting to perform capitalization for the same period (MM/YYYY).

This creates a logical inconsistency, since an asset cannot be capitalized after it has been retired, causing the system to throw a generic “recording error” and skip posting in ABC.

In contrast, the asset remains active in SOB MNO, which is why the settlement posting is successfully generated there.

Resolution is to reverse or correct the retirement in ABC so the asset is active, and then Rerun the settlement.
