3776923 - L-2 Visa Is Not Available as a Visa Type in I-9 Section 2 - Onboarding

While completing I-9 Section 2 in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding, an employer needs to process a candidate who holds an L-2 visa. However, L-2 is not available as a selectable visa type in the I-9 step.

Currently, the L-2 visa and its variants are not included in the list of available visa types for the I-9 process in Onboarding 2.0.

As a temporary workaround, select either L1-A or L1-B as the visa type when completing I-9 Section 2. You may also add a note in the Additional Information field indicating that the employee's actual visa type is L-2.

This workaround is considered safe because:

• The selected visa type is used only for internal application logic.
• The visa type is not printed on the Form I-9.
• The visa type is not transmitted to E-Verify.
• L-category visas do not have any special processing logic that would affect the I-9 workflow.

Therefore, selecting L1-A or L1-B as a temporary substitute will allow the I-9 process to be completed successfully.

Future Enhancement

Product Team is planning to update the visa list in a future release to include L-2 visa and its variants as part of enhancement OBX-39871.

At this time, there is no confirmed delivery timeline for this enhancement. Customers who would like updates on the status of this enhancement may contact their Account Executive or Customer Engagement Executive and reference OBX-39871 for the latest information.
