Symptom

This KBA involves the details to be maintained in the TLS Certificate in SAP Traceability Hub.

Environment

SAP Traceability Hub.

Cause

  • The certificate shared does not comply with the expected format or structure required by SAP Traceability Hub.
  • Missing components in the certificate chain (Ex: root or intermediate certificates).
  • Incorrect key configuration or absence of required enhanced key usage.
  • Client certificate is not properly configured or included.

Resolution

  1. Ensure that the certificate provided is in the correct and supported format.
  2. Verify that the certificate includes:
    1. Correctly configured Enhanced Key Usage (EKU).
    2. A valid Client Certificate.
  3. Confirm that the complete certificate chain is available and includes:
    1. Root Certificate
    2. Intermediate Certificate(s)
    3. Middleware/Server Certificate
  4. Ensure all certificate chain components are properly bundled and shared in the correct sequence.
  5. Validate the certificate before submission to confirm compatibility with SAP Traceability Hub requirements.
