3776983 - External candidates cannot access employee central before hire; only recruiting and limited onboarding access

• External candidates who have never been hired and do not exist as employees in Employee Central cannot access Employee Central functionality.
• External candidates can only access the system through the recruiting application layer.
• Access to Employee Central is only possible once an employee record is created (Hire process).
• During Onboarding, candidates may become external users (new hires) with limited access only, which does not provide full Employee Central access.
• Confirmation is required on whether external candidates can access Employee Central without being hired.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 

1. Use a user who exists only as an external candidate in Recruiting and has never been hired.
2. Attempt to access Employee Central pages (for example, People Profile or Job Information).
3. Observe that only Recruiting is accessible and Employee Central pages are not available.
4. During Onboarding, review access with assigned onboarding role-based permissions and note that access remains limited until Hire is completed via Manage Pending Hires.

• Standard product design restricts Employee Central access to users with an employee record created by the Hire process; onboarding external users have limited scope only.

1. Confirm that external candidates who have never been hired cannot access Employee Central functionality.
2. Use Recruiting-only access for candidates prior to Onboarding.
3. During Onboarding, assign only the necessary onboarding role-based permissions for tasks; do not expect full Employee Central access.
4. Complete Manage Pending Hires and the Hire process to create the employee record.
5. After Hire, grant Employee Central permissions (for example, People Profile and Job Information) based on role-based permissions.
