3777102 - Required field error on Reimagined Candidate Experience for background element despite value being maintained for that field - SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting

When the Reimagined Candidate Experience is enabled and a candidate attempts to submit their application they will face an error: "[Field Label] field is required" despite a value being maintained for that background element field.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management 

1. Access the External Careers site
2. Complete all required fields in each of the sections and proceed.
3. On the Review step, click Apply.
4. Observe the error: "[Field Label] field is required."

After investigating this issue, our engineering team have confirmed that this issue is caused by a Field ID containing the substring "id" e.g. "didReview". Because of this, the mandatory field was not included in the application request, preventing candidates from successfully submitting their application.

Our recommendation here is that when configuring Background Element data field IDs in the Candidate Profile XML template, please avoid using "id" as part of the field ID. Instead, use a naming convention that does not include the substring "id" to prevent similar issues.
