3777400 - HTTP Status 404 while accessing Restful Webservice URL

Symptom

  • Getting Http 404 upon accessing the Restful webservice url
  • biprws folder does exist in <SAP_Install_Dir>/tomcat/Webapps/ and <SAP_Install_Dir>/SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0/warfiles/webapps/ 
  • Upon retrying redeploying biprws we receive the below entries in std.err traces :

    Failed to instantiate SLF4J LoggerFactory
    Reported exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Level
        at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.bind(LoggerFactory.java:150)
        at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.performInitialization(LoggerFactory.java:124)
        at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.getILoggerFactory(LoggerFactory.java:417)
        at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.getLogger(LoggerFactory.java:362)

    SEVERE: Context initialization failed
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/Level
    Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.log4j.Level
        at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoaderBase.loadClass(WebappClassLoaderBase.java:1412)
        at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoaderBase.loadClass(WebappClassLoaderBase.java:1220)
