Symptom
Customers report that the New Zealand IR330 Tax Code Declaration form displays unexpected or additional characters in the IRD Number field when the generated PDF is opened on certain Windows environments. The behavior may vary depending on the PDF viewer and operating system.

Reproducing the Issue
- When opening the generated IR330 PDF, additional or garbled characters appear in the IRD Number field.
- The issue is not consistently reproducible across all platforms:
- On macOS, the document displays correctly.
- On Windows 11, the issue has been observed when using PDF viewers such as Adobe Acrobat DC, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome.
- Some online PDF viewers display the document correctly, while others may reproduce the issue.
Cause
The issue is related to font rendering. The current Onboarding implementation uses the March 2025 version of the IR330 form, which references Helvetica without embedding the font. Since Helvetica is not included by default on Windows 11, some PDF viewers substitute the font, resulting in additional or garbled characters being displayed.
The latest IRD IR330 form (October 2025 version) does not exhibit the same formatting behavior.
Resolution
Engineering has confirmed that this issue will be addressed as part of the update to the latest IR330 form version.
The enhancement is being tracked under OBX-44438 and is currently planned for delivery in the 2H 2026 release.
For the latest progress or release updates, customers should contact their Account Executive or Customer Engagement Executive and reference OBX-44438.
