3778027 - Odata v2 : Generated function import names with more than 40 characters are truncated and contain "$", causing http 500 Errors in SAP Gateway

Symptom

  • When generating an OData V2 service for ODP extraction, function imports based on the ODP object are created, for example: SubscribeDeltasForFactsOfZ_I_ODATA_CDPOS (44 characters).
  • For some ODP objects with longer technical names, the generated function import name is truncated and includes a reserved character, for example: TDeltForENTITY$F.
  • Calling a function import whose name contains “$” results in an HTTP 500 error in the gateway.
  • The presence of “$F” in the function import name makes it unusable in the OData framework.
