3778085 - Form Template Changes Not Visible After Activation

Symptom

Changes made to a custom form template are not reflected in the UI after activation. Additionally, the modification date of the corresponding .xdp file is not updated even after changes are made to the form template.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud Application Studio
  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign
  • Adobe LiveCycle Designer

Cause

If the associated .xdp file remains checked out, changes made to the form template may not be propagated correctly during activation. Checking in the .xdp file and reactivating the .ftgd file ensures that the latest form definition is generated and deployed.

Resolution

  1. Open the solution in SAP Cloud Application Studio (SDK).
  2. Navigate to the custom form template (.ftgd) and the associated .xdp file.
  3. Verify whether the .xdp file is currently checked out.
  4. If the .xdp file is checked out, perform a Check In operation on the file.
  5. Save all pending changes in the solution.
  6. Activate the form template (.ftgd) file.
  7. Confirm that the .xdp file modification date is updated after activation.
  8. Test the custom form in the UI and verify that the latest template changes are now reflected.
