3778291 - "Error occurred in rule condition while processing bank statement item" when applying automated processing rules – SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• "Error occurred in rule condition while processing bank statement item" is raised when scheduling the job for applying Automated Processing Rules using Reprocess Bank Statement Items.
• "Posting Area 1 already posted with JE xxxxxxx. Rule application not possible." is displayed in the log in the app Reprocess Bank Statement Items.

• Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
• Bank Statement (Public Cloud)

1. Open the Reprocess Bank Statement Items app (F1520).
2. Select a bank statement item that should be processed by an automated rule.
3. Start automated processing and open the Log tab.
4. Observe that no automated rule is applied and the error message is shown.

• The failure of the Automated Processing Rule is due to the status of Posting Area. The system attempted to process an item with a two-step posting rule for which the posting area 1 is already posted, which conflicts with the one-step processing rule.

• Harmonize the posting behaviors of the rules to avoid similar scenarios.
