3778340 - No value / value is missing from the dropdown fields in Manage Document Grounding when editing metadata tagging - SAP SuccessFactors

When tagging values for a document in SF Manage document grounding, meet below issues:

• Country metadata filter shows incomplete or no values despite data existing in Employee Profile
• Dropdown fields in "Manage Document Grounding" display null/empty values when editing document metadata
• Filters are not being enforced even after pipeline triggering an HRIS sync
• Non-matching documents are still retrieved despite applying location-based filters

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Go to Manage Document Grounding
2. Choose a document and add document metadata
3. Attempt to select values from e.g Country and other dropdown filters 
4. Observe that dropdowns show missing or null values

The Picklist / Generic Object (depends on the field's data type) API returns entries where the Field's default locale is null for all values. If it is null, the dropdown list appears empty. 

e.g if the user locale in SF is Spanish, and the related field's values does not have Spanish Translated values, from Manage Document Grounding to add metadata tagging for the field, you will see null value.

1. Configure translated values in Picklist Center for the field (data type is picklist) or Configure the translated values for the Generic Object values (data type is Generic Object).
2. Go to Manage Document Grounding → Edit Mapping, change Fields (Company, Location, Division) to "unable to map" → Save, then change back to related mapping fields and save back again.
3. Re-add tagging values to documents
4. Verify values appear in Manage Data → UseCasesConfiguration
5. Re-trigger the pipeline using KBA 3739806 endpoint
6. Re-test the filtering behavior.

Note: If an admin is logged in with a language other than the company default (e.g., English UK when company default is US English), picklist values must be maintained for that language as well to prevent null values from displaying.
