3778386 - The Business Place Field is Blank in the Taxes Tab of Both the Billing Document and the Preliminary Billing Document

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Display Billing Document app.
2. Search and open the affected Billing Document.
3. Click in Display Header details and go to the Taxes tab.
4. Observe that the Business Place field is blank.
5. Check for the related Preliminary Billing Document and observe the same behavior.

Business Place is not maintained for the relevant Plant in the activity Assign Business Places to Plants for Goods and Services Tax for India.

Business Place is intended to be maintained at the Sales Office level rather than at the Plant level. However, the Sales Office field is only available in the Sales Order. For the Business Place to be determined and displayed in the Billing Document, it must be assigned to the Plant.

1. Open Business Configuration and navigate to the activity “Assign Business Places to Plants for Goods and Services Tax for India”.
2. Maintain the assignment of the relevant Plant(s) to the correct Business Place(s).
3. Save the configuration.
4. Retest by creating or displaying the preliminary billing document and the billing document, then check Header > Taxes: the Business Place should be determined.
5. If you require Business Place determination based on Sales Office instead of Plant, implement a Globalization extensibility for Business Place determination (for example, BAdI GLOFI_BUPLA_DETERMINE_EXT) in consultation with your localization expert.
