3778528 - Autoflow Not Triggered Via API, It Is Only Triggered Correctly Once Action Is Performed Via UI

Symptom

Autoflow is not triggered when conditions are met when an entity is created via API (using a technical integration user). The autoflow is triggered correctly when the same case is copied and saved via the UI. 

Environment

SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an entity via API with → autoflow is not triggered.
  2. Open the created case in the UI and use the Copy action, then save → autoflow triggered correctly.

Verification via UI:

  • Open the entity (created via API).
  • Navigate to the Changes tab → Automation report.
  • Confirm: Autoflow is not listed as triggered.
  • Change entity via UI.
  • Navigate to the Changes tab → Automation report.
  • Confirm: Autoflow is triggered.

Cause

The 'Enable for Bulk Operations' toggle is inactive. 

Resolution

Activate toggle "Enable for bulk operations" and test further:

A new Enable for Bulk Operations switch is available in Autoflow actions. By enabling this option, administrators can allow the action to run when records are processed in bulk. If the option is disabled, the action is skipped during bulk operations and runs only for individual records.

Bulk processing scenarios include:

  • Data migration from SAP Cloud for Customer to SAP Service Cloud CNS
  • Initial replication of business entity data from SAP Cloud for Customer to SAP Service Cloud CNS
  • Delta replication of business entity data from SAP Cloud for Customer to SAP Service Cloud CNS
  • Other data replication scenarios from SAP Cloud for Customer to SAP Service Cloud CNS
  • Inbound integration via connector service
  • Data import and export (Data Impex)
  • Data export via events
  • External API-based processing
  • Data protection and privacy events
