3779035 - Object Value Selector (OVS) Does Not Load and Shows a Perpetual Loading Spinner for a Custom Service

You have created two separate Custom Services, where one acts as a master/reference Custom Service. The second Custom Service's metadata defines a value-help association (Object Value Selector) that points to this master/reference Custom Service.

However, when you open the Object Value Selector (OVS) to select values for the associated field, the OVS displays a perpetual (infinite) loading spinner and never completes loading.

1. Click on the Profile Icon.
2. Navigate to System Settings > All Settings.
3. Go to Extensibility > Custom Services.
4. Create a Custom Service using the Entity-Based format.
5. Assign another existing Custom Service as the master/reference service.
6. In the current Custom Service, define an Object Value Selector (OVS) for any field.
7. Save and activate the Custom Service.
8. Navigate to the newly created Custom Service.
9. Click on the "+" icon to create a new instance.
10. Click on the Object Value Selector (OVS) for the associated field.
11. Result: The OVS displays a perpetual loading spinner and does not load the values.

The Object Value Selector (OVS) view has not been generated for the referenced Custom Service. Because the OVS view does not exist, the value-help cannot retrieve any data, which results in the infinite loading spinner.

To resolve this issue, you need to generate the Object Value Selector (OVS) view for the affected Custom Service by following these steps:

1. Click on the Profile Icon.
2. Navigate to System Settings > All Settings.
3. Go to Extensibility > Custom Services.
4. Locate the affected Custom Service and click on Design App.
5. Select the option to add/generate the OVS (Object Value Selector) view.
6. Publish and activate the changes.

After completing these steps, reopen the Object Value Selector. The value-help should now load correctly and display the available values.
