Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud version 2026.2.16
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to SAC
- Navigate to the connection.
- Create connection to Azure SQL Database using authentication=ActiveDirectoryPassword.
- Click Save.
Notice : The connection fails with error "Failed to load MSAL4J Java library for performing ActiveDirectoryPassword authentication."
Cause
The SAC Agent is missing the required plugin MSAL4J library needed to communicate with Microsoft Entra ID when using ActiveDirectoryPassword authentication. This is a limitation on the agent side rather than a configuration issue.
