3779127 - Postprocessing Status Shows as 'Not Relevant' for Empty Bank Statements

Symptom

Bank Statements are created and posted. Instead of 'Required' or 'Not Required' - the Postprocessing Status shows as 'Not Relevant'.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In the Liquidity Management work center go to Bank Statement view.
  2. Select the relevant posted bank statement transaction.
  3. In the column Postprocessing the status shows as 'Not Relevant'.

Cause

This is intended system behaviour.

Resolution

In case there are no line-items processed in a bank statement - the Postprocessing Status remains 'Not Relevant'.

Not only is there no Journal Entry created when posting the bank statement - there also are no related Payment Allocations or Clearings to be created from such a bank statement.

Hence, such statements are not subject to further Postprocessing.
