3779205 - Hris sync updates assignmentdisplayheader from lowest sequence when multiple same-day jobinfo records exist

Symptom

  • After an HRIS Sync job runs, the People Profile header (assignmentDisplayHeader) shows a value from the lowest sequence record when there are multiple jobInfo records with the same start date  for Today.
  • Immediately after saving the latest same-day jobInfo record, the header initially displays the correct (highest sequence) value, but changes to the oldest (sequence 1) value after HRIS Sync.

Environment

  • Product: SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • HRIS Sync

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create multiple jobInfo records with the same start date for Today. (for example, two or more changes effective on the same day today).
  2. Ensure the employment differentiator field that feeds assignmentDisplayHeader has different values per sequence (for example, sequence 2 differing from sequence 1).
  3. Save the latest record and refresh: the header displays the latest (highest sequence) value due to real-time sync.
  4. Run the HRIS Sync job: the header changes to the value from the lowest sequence record for that same start date.

Cause

A product defect causes HRIS Sync to source assignmentDisplayHeader from the lowest sequence when multiple jobInfo records exist for the same start date, especially impacting “today” effective-dated scenarios.

Resolution

Engineering is working on the fix now, and we are planning to fix this via patch at 28th July, 2026 for preview instance, and 30th July, 2026 for production instance.
