Symptom
A bank key that has been marked for deletion in the Bank Master Data can still be entered manually in the Business Partner Master Data.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- In the Manage Banks app, mark a bank key for deletion.
- In the Manage Business Partner Master Data app, add a bank account using the same bank key save.
- Observe that the business partner is saved with no warning that the bank is marked for deletion.
Cause
- Currently, there is no validation that checks whether a manually entered bank key has been marked for deletion in the Bank Master Data application.
- The deletion indicator only affects the F4 value help and does not prevent the bank key from being entered or saved manually in Business Partner Master Data.
Resolution
This is the standard system behavior.
- Bank keys that are marked for deletion are not displayed in the F4 value help of Business Partner Master Data.
- In the Maintain Business Partner app, if a bank marked for deletion is already selected, the system displays a warning indicating that the deleted bank should not be used. However, the warning does not prevent from saving the changes.
- When manually enters a bank key that has been marked for deletion, the system allows the master data record to be saved without displaying any error or warning message in the Manage Business Partner Master Data.
