3779354 - Currency translation task shows "not relevant" in Data Monitor

Symptom

Currency Translation task shows "Not Applicable" for consolidation units in Data Monitor

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

 SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Group Reporting Data Monitor and set global parameters (for example: a consolidation group, a version using group currency or a different group currency, period 006, fiscal year 2026).
  2. Review the Currency Translation task for consolidation units.
  3. Observe the task status is "Not Applicable" for affected units.

Cause

  • The "Group currency is leading" flag is selected in the consolidation unit master data; by design, group currency is treated as local currency, so the Currency Translation task is not required and appears as "Not Applicable".
  • For newly created or copied versions, a cached task status can display incorrectly until task statuses are reset.

Resolution

  1. Verify the consolidation unit master data:
  • If you intend to perform currency translation, remove the "Group currency is leading" option for those units so that translation becomes applicable.
  • If group currency must be leading by design, no translation is required and the "Not Applicable" status is expected.
  1. Reset the Data Monitor task status for the affected version to clear potential caching of task availability.
  2. Reopen the Data Monitor and run the Currency Translation task for units where the option is not set.
