Symptom
- When entering commands such as “View my manager” or “View my peers”, Joule correctly displays a profile card with the employee's name. However, the profile card is not a clickable hyperlink and does not navigate the user to the corresponding Employee Profile page in SAP SuccessFactors. The base functionality of Joule is working correctly for other queries.
- When entering commands such as “View Org Chart” or “Go to Home Page”, Joule provides a text-based response instead of generating the expected navigation button or deep link.
- Standard configuration checks have already been completed, including:
- SuccessFactors user permissions and assignment to the
deepLinkActivationPermissiongroup. - Execution of the "Refresh Synthetic Group Data" job.
- Verification of the IPS source/target configuration and provisioning job.
- Confirmation of the assigned Role ID in Work Zone.
- SuccessFactors user permissions and assignment to the
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- Joule
Reproducing the Issue
- Enter a prompt to view personal information, such as: "View my profile" or "View Org Chart"
- Observe that Joule returns a response that contains a profile card with the employee's name but does not include a clickable profile button or a navigation deep link.
Cause
The issue may be caused by a manually created Navigation Service configuration in BTP.
Please note that if you're setting up Joule after Oct 13, 2025, you do not need to provide this destination's screenshot. Since: you do not need to configure the navigation service destination manually, the Navigation Service Destination, This is already handled at the BTP provider-side (and customers do not see this destination created).
Resolution
Delete the destination in BTP for 'NavigationService' as per the KBA 3756978 - Joule only gives general response.
